Daily Life at the Cresson Sanitorium.

What was basic life like in the sanitorium?

  • Patients would undergo treatments.
  • Sundays were visiting days.
  • There was a set time to go outside and get some fresh air.
  • There were special passes to visit and wander around Cresson if a patient was well enough.
  • Patients would sometimes be woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of nurses running down the hall, to try and save a patient that would start hemorrhaging.
